A cold case from 1999 is getting a fresh pair of eyes from the Rock Springs Police Department.

On Friday, Feb. 16, RSPD announced that Detective Jennifer Saloga is taking over the investigation for Sgt. Steve Reekers, who was working on the case of the murder of Davida Peterson.

Nearly 25 years ago on May 8, 1999, Peterson was working at V-1 Propane in Rock Springs when two armed robbers took her life, according to Friday’s police report. During Sgt. Reekers’ investigation, he was able to develop persons of interest in the case who have ties to Rock Springs and were never excluded as potential suspects.
