I knew Wayne in the 6th grade, in 1997 I ran into him at a store. He was with his new pregnant wife and told me she was a dentist assistant. The entire time I kept thinking of the Unsolved Mysteries episode.

The problem of Roswell is all the lies that have been told by witnesses, the mortician, there never was a secretary that typed up alien autopsy reports at Wright-Patterson AFB, Cactus Jack never existed and finally there never was a college archeologists on a field trip at this time.
Proper research shows this.
However, I still believe a saucer crashed there. But these moronic individuals need to stop with the lies so we can get at the truth.

Hello, obviously a very sad case! All these years later and he hasn’t been found alive or dead! If the hospital and cemeteries have records dated back to the early 1990’s were he was last seen walking or just last seen by someone then you might get lucky finding him! Or he might be alive and not know he’s being sought after! Another idea is to check the DMV, Dept. Of Motor vehicles of the state Mr. John Cheeks live in. Hopefully they got records of him in the early 1990’s to publicize to the public of were he use to live and work. Hopefuly it will trigger someone’s memory of him currently working on the job or him living with someone. Well that’s it! Oh yes, check the state of Tennessee, state COMPUTER for people that have died and are buried in the cemeteries in that state. And again, that’s all the cemeteries in Tennessee to check from the early 1990’s to the present. And the SAME goes for the hospitals. I also assume that the state computers faces of past and current people in their computers. To stay alive, John Cheeks obviously NEEDS to find work, and is seen by his employer. Seen in a store too. Wake up Tennessee, you NEED to be aggressive at seeking John Cheeks’s whereabouts! Good bye Ron Folds

Update: The property has been clearcut and bulldozed. Last spring (2026) Blurring was removed from Google streetview and sattelliteview. The driveway was gravelled. Soil retaining mesh was used to line the pond banks. When I pulled up images this LaborDay weekend I was shocked to see all of the trees and vegetation removed NorthEast of the diagonal powerline cut. All that remains is levelled white sand and some metal debris North of the pond. Her cabin is definitely gone and there is no sign of the landlords cabin which was used for exterior filming of the UM segment. I don’t know when her cabin was built. It is depicted on early 1960s maps. I first saw it in November 1977 handling dogs for a hunter. I bow hunted with permission in the pine forest in what is now suburban housing East of the property. The last time I saw the cabin was the mid to late1990s. It was mostly boarded up to prevent intruders or storm damage. There were 2 anchor points for chains with corresponding wallows by the screen porch door and the cinderblock addition door. My first memory of the pond is the early 1980s. I don’t know when it was constructed. I didn’t know Debbie lived there from sometime in 1984 until her death until I saw an online article, with a photo, by Dr Maurice Godwin in late 2023. Debbie had left the Fayetteville area to further her education by August 1981. I didn’t know she had moved back until after her death.

I wonder if anybody looked into his new job?? perhaps there was a disgruntled ex worker, perhaps he took the position of somebody who got fired under bad circumstances and they exacted revenge on Tom when he got the new position . Just a theory to throw out there

My theory is that the disappearance may have been planned. I wonder if Jacqueline’s mother arranged for someone to take the baby, possibly in exchange for money, and took her two-year-old into the bathroom so the older child wouldn’t witness who took Jacqueline. Then the kidnapping story could have been used to explain the disappearance. I obviously can’t prove that, but based on the circumstances, that’s one possibility I think investigators would have needed to consider.

In reply to Anonymous. They did investigate him. 32 YEARS ago. They convened a grand jury put this guy through the wringer false testimony from Dwayne Sandy searched his home, took his DNA. The Grand Jury returned a NO TRUE BILL. Honestly I don’t know why the guy didn’t sue the police department
