On August 3, 2000, what should have been a carefree summer day for 11-year-old Kevin Brewer turned into an immense tragedy in North Minneapolis.
Riding his bike with a friend near Cottage Park, Kevin’s life was cut short, struck by a stray bullet after a fight erupted among a group of men playing dice nearby. Despite approximately 100 witnesses at the park that afternoon, and billboards put up throughout Minneapolis when it happened, Kevin’s murder remains unsolved 25 years later.
