A substantial reward is now on the table for anyone who can provide new insights into the unsolved murder of Clay Buchanan, a case that has left detectives at a standstill since August 2023.

The Los Angeles Police Department has announced a $50,000 incentive for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of suspects responsible, as per FOX LA. Buchanan, 50, met a tragic fate when he was set ablaze while sleeping in his car on East 102nd Street in South LA. The police have been racking through evidence for over a year now but to no avail.

On that fateful day in 2023 around 1:30 a.m., surveillance footage captured a dark-colored, four-door vehicle sneaking up behind Buchanan’s parked car, after which individuals emerged to douse him and his vehicle with an accelerant before igniting the fire and fleeing, detailed by CBS News. Despite the video evidence, a clear motive has eluded investigators, and the assailants remain unidentified at large, Buchanan was transported to the hospital in grave condition however, despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
