What kind of entity is Becky, and what does she want? CASE DETAILS  Steve Mera, a renowned parapsychologist, was initially skeptical of Don’s claims. In January of 2015, Steve Mera, the founder of The Scientific Establishment of Parapsychology (SEP), meets a paranormal investigator by the name of Don Philips. Philips, a psychic medium himself, claims to have formed a bond with a spirit who goes by the name “Becky.” A powerful and benevolent spirit, Becky communicates with Don via a handheld recorder. Now, Don claims that Becky follows him on other paranormal investigations, helping him in his work.  Don has conducted several paranormal investigations at various locations. When Steve Mera attends his first meeting with Don, he has every intention of debunking these claims. However, within a matter of hours, Don is able to demonstrate his abilities, and to Mera’s astonishment, he hears Becky’s voice himself through Don’s recorder. Mera has never seen a person like Don form a bond with a spirit like this before… Can it be real? Mera decides the only way to get to the bottom of this phenomena is to take Don to paranormal hot spots and see just how powerful this Becky is. Mera invites Don on more paranormal investigations, and each time Don and Becky surprise and amaze Mera and others with their incredible partnership. Incredibly, on one investigation, Becky speaks directly to another investigator, Chris Andrews, through a highly sensitive microphone. The encounter leaves Andrews shaken to his core, and further intensifies Mera’s own curiosity about Becky.  Steve tested Don’s abilities while investigating Tutbury Castle. However, on a special investigation in Ireland at the famous Lisheen House with world-renowned paranormal researcher Barry Fitzgerald, Mera observes that Becky might not be the benevolent being that he, and especially Don, have been led to believe. Mera’s concerns about Becky grow after Mera has a profound and unsettling first-hand encounter with Becky himself.  Don is left wondering why Becky chose him, and what she ultimately wants.
