Kristen Modaferri: possible DNA match

Eighteen-year-old Kristen Modafferi was a college honor student from North Carolina spending her summer in San Francisco. On Monday, June 23rd, 1997, she arrived for work at the Crocker Galleria mall. She had taken a job at a coffee shop to pay for a photography course at U.C. Berkeley.  At the end of her shift, Kristen left the coffee shop, withdrew money from the bank, and was never seen again.

Twenty years later, there is a potential break in the case. Private investigators searched the property in Oakland where Kristen was living at the time of her disappearance. A K-9 that specializes in finding hidden graves alerted to a drainage pipe downhill from the residence. In another search, a forensic anthropologist examined the site, and found evidence of human blood in the area between Kristen’s house and the house next door at the base of some porch steps.

The DNA they found on that site was a match for Kristen. The evidence has yet to be verified by the police. We will bring you more information as this story develops.

Watch this case now on Amazon Prime in season seven with Dennis Farina and coming soon with Robert Stack. Also available on YouTube with Dennis Farina.
