Jacob’s Last Drive

31yearold Jacob Cabinaw is weeks away from graduating from college, an active member of the Army National Guard, and a handson single father to two young boys when he suddenly disappears from his home in Traverse City, MI after a game of disc golf with some friends. Police follow his trail through several states until it ends in Sweetwater, TX, two days later, on April 2, 2010, where Jacob vanishes forever, along with his car and personal belongings. Jacob is a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippawa Indians, and a master mechanic, who friends and family say would never voluntarily walk away from his life and children. Twelve years later, Jacob’s disappearance remains a mystery, and his loved ones have more questions than answers. Why did he suddenly leave his home and family? Where was he going? What happened to him once he arrived in Texas, and what was he doing there in the first place?

Jacob Cabinaw is a Native American male, and was 31 years old when he went missing on March 31, 2010. He has brown hair and eyes, is 6’2” tall, and weighs about 145 pounds. He was last seen wearing his work uniform, consisting of dark blue pants, a white t-shirt, a dark blue jacket with “Dave’s Garage” printed on it, and brown work boots. He was driving silver 2002 Chevrolet Malibu with Michigan plates. If you have any information about Jacob’s disappearance, please call the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Department at 231-995-5002, send an email to info@gtsheriff.org or contact unsolved.com.

It says he was going to graduate in two weeks. Maybe look into that and see if he was not going to in fact. Maybe financial hardship after realizing he wouldn’t graduate and get a job with better pay contributed. Maybe he would be worse off financially due to student loans he couldn’t repay.

On the Podcast feed, ‘Jacob’s Last Drive doesn’t play. Instead, the episode ‘Double Murder on the Fifth Floor’ plays instead. Then today, ‘Double Murder on the Fifth Floor’ was released. So the same episode was released twice. However, the correct episode plays on the website, which is strange.

Hello Faith! Some of our subscribers experienced the same issue. ‘Double Murder on the Fifth Floor’ was mistakenly released early. If you delete and reload, Jacob’s Last Drive should populate and make both episodes available. Thank you!

All signs point to Jacob leaving on his own. Not sure why, but the security cameras that show him, and the cop at the rest area seeing him put it to bed for me. I pray the family gets the info they need to solve this mystery.
