Dead in the Driveway

On a sunny October afternoon in Dallas, Georgia, Army vet and prison chaplain Regan Wheeler finishes up a morning of brush-cutting at his elderly mother’s house — a weekly task he does gladly. But when Regan returns to his quiet, forested suburban neighborhood, he meets a shocking and untimely end. Hours later, his wife and daughter find him dead in the driveway, riddled with bullets. Witnesses, clues and motives are almost non-existent, and answers — as well as Regan’s killers — have eluded the sheriff’s department ever since. Did patrons of his prison ministries target Regan for something they wanted inside his home? Who was driving the mysterious blue SUV out of the neighborhood after the murder? Detectives are eager for any information that might lead to whoever killed this generous man, whose violent death did not match his reverent way of life.

Crime Stoppers and the FBI have offered $30,000 as a reward to anyone who can lead police to Regan Wheeler’s killer. If you have any information about the murder of Regan Wheeler, please submit a tip on the Paulding County Sheriff’s tip line,  (770) 443- 3047, or at unsolved.com.

Heart breaking for the family. I’d be curious if there were any home break ins during this time. What did the informants say during this time? Seems like he walked in on someone looking for prescription meds, and valuables. I suspect these killers broke in other homes in and around the area.
